And because homeownership is so important, many people are willing to sacrifice in order to successfully purchase a home.
But what, exactly, are they willing to sacrifice?
The Cinch Home Services survey asked potential homeowners what they’d be willing to give up for an entire year in order to own a home. Some of the top responses include:
Alcohol (53.3 percent)
Taking vacations (52.5 percent)
Buying new clothes (45 percent)
Dining out (43.8 percent)
So, what does this mean for you? Many potential buyers are willing to make sacrifices in order to save the money they need to successfully buy a home. So, if homeownership is one of your goals, it may be helpful to start thinking about what you’d be willing to give up—because sacrificing those cocktails, weekend getaways, and shopping trips (just for a little while!) could help you reach your goal faster.
